A Note on “Constant Latent Odds-Ratios Models and the Mantel–Haenszel Null Hypothesis” Hessen, 2005
In a recent paper, Hessen (Psychometrika 70(3):497-516, 2005) introduces the class of constant latent odds-ratios models as an extension of the Rasch model for which the sum score is still the sufficient statistic for ability. In this paper the relation between both the general and the general parametric constant latent odds-ratios model and the Rasch model is considered.
متن کاملMantel-Haenszel estimators of odds ratios for stratified dependent binomial data
A standard approach to analyzing n binary matched pairs being usually represented in n 2× 2 tables is to apply a subject-specific model; for the simplest situation it is the so-called Rasch Model. An alternative population-averaged approach is to apply a marginal model to the single 2 × 2 table formed by n subjects. For the situation of having an additional stratification variable with K levels...
متن کاملAdjusting the Mantel Haenszel Test Statistic and Odds Ratio for Cluster Sampling
The purpose of this note is to introduce practicing epidemiologist to a robust cluster adjustment of the Mantel Haenszel Test Statistic and Odds Ratio. We will discuss the applicability of the adjustment and also its computation. Throughout we will use data from the file SDZ1.rec which comes with the CIETmap analysis software. We start by giving a short introduction to odds ratio estimation and...
متن کاملA general estimator for the variance of the Mantel-Haenszel odds ratio.
This commentary presents a new estiof matching variables, unmatched varimator of the variance of the natural log of ables, or both. This notation encompasses the Mantel-Haenszel odds ratio and illusthe full spectrum of matched and untrates its application in typical case-control matched designs. For example, in the pairdesigns. In contrast with any single previmatched study, MI and Mo are alway...
متن کاملThe Mantel-Haenszel Procedure Revisited: Models and Generalizations
Several statistical methods have been developed for adjusting the Odds Ratio of the relation between two dichotomous variables X and Y for some confounders Z. With the exception of the Mantel-Haenszel method, commonly used methods, notably binary logistic regression, are not symmetrical in X and Y. The classical Mantel-Haenszel method however only works for confounders with a limited number of ...
